The Pelham High School softball team defeated Oak Mountain 4-0 in the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A, Area 10 tournament championship game May 5.

Caitlyn Sapp led the Panthers offensively as she finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a double. Sapp drove in two runs and scored one run in the victory.

Whitney Gillespie, who drove in two runs and scored one run, went 1-for-4 with a homer. Mary Morgan Dramer finished 1-for-3 at the plate and scored one run. Wein Whitman went 1-for-2 at the plate. Emily Spain finished 1-for-3 at the plate and scored one run.

Madi Walker and Becky Fox each finished 1-for-3 at the plate in the win.

Gillespie earned the win in the circle after giving up just three hits with four strikeouts and a walk in a complete-game shutout.

Hannah Griffin, Kailey Boone and Madeline Porter led the Eagles with a base hit each.

Oak Mountain advanced to the title game following a 2-1 win over Hoover in the consolation final.

Anne Thomaston earned the win in the circle after giving up just one run on four hits with two strikeouts in a complete game.
