Funeral services for Ms. Margaret Knight Poe, age 80, of Wilsonville will be Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Columbiana with Reverend Mike Miller and Reverend Jimmy Allen officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Rosemere Cemetery in Opelika.

Ms. Poe passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at her home. A Dadeville native, she grew up in Opelika and graduated from Opelika High School. While living in Camp Hill, Margaret worked as an accounts clerk for the O.R. Chester Company. After returning to Opelika, she worked in a similar capacity for the AMPEX Corporation until her retirement. Ms. Poe was a member of the First Baptist Church of Columbiana where she was a member of the senior adult Sunday school class and especially enjoyed singing in the senior adult choir.

Ms. Poe is survived by her daughter, Vicki Letlow (Michael); one granddaughter, Rebekah Letlow, all of Wilsonville plus a number of nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Marshall Knight and Winnie Mae Jones Knight, and two brothers: Roy Knight and Bill Knight.

Family members and friends served as pallbearers.

The family received friends at the First Baptist Church of Columbiana on Monday, May 14, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. and until service time Tuesday morning.
