Albert L. Barnes, 93, formally a resident of Vincent, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Hill and Rev. Tim J. Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Pine View Memorial Gardens with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing.

Mr. Barnes is preceded in death by his wife, Harriett Cole Barnes, and his son, Ronnie Barnes. He is survived by two sons, Tommy L. Barnes (Carolyn) and Tim J. Barnes (Hilda); eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was a World War II veteran. Active pallbearers will be Hunter Gamble, Tanner Gamble, Jackson Hedges, Jamie Fortenberry, J.R. Sisson, Greg Willis, Dr. Chip Armstrong and Donald Oakes. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Barnes, Lew Willis and Jared Munn. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 10 a.m. until service time at Gassett Funeral Home.
