The Alabaster Police Department is investigating an alleged sexual abuse incident reported May 16 in the 100 block of Yachtsman Drive.

The Shelby County Department of Human Resources notified the police department of the alleged incident after it was reported to the county agency, said Alabaster police Lt. John Anthony.

According to police records, the alleged sexual abuse incident occurred between April 19 and May 14, and involved an underage female victim.

Anthony said he could not release further details of the alleged incident, as the DHR and police department investigations are ongoing. As of May 22, no arrests had been made related to the alleged incident.
