Louise Goodwin Haisten, age 73, of Childersburg, AL went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Bolton Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Criss and Pastor Shane Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 23, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home.

Louise was retired from Vulcan Binder in Vincent. She also worked about 30 years in textiles including Elastic Corporation of America, Valley Mills and Buck Creek Cotton Mill. She also worked at Briarcliff Nursing Home as a caregiver and did private sitting with the elderly. She attended Fairmont Grace Baptist Church for 18 years.

Mrs. Haisten is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mae Bell Higgins; 1st husband J.C. Goodwin of 33 years; 2nd husband Wallace Haisten of 21 years; stepdaughter, Rhonda Stripling; brothers, Johnny and Onnie Higgins; sister, Lola Benson and half sister, Ailene Blackmon. She is survived by her sons, Joey Goodwin (Judy) of Shelby, Kenneth Goodwin of Childersburg; daughters, Kathy Carter (Jerry) of Calera, Patti Shaw (Tommy) of Childersburg, Tracy Shaw (Hugh) of Harpersville; 5 special grandchildren, Shane Goodwin (Courtney), Kelly Johnstone (Barkely), Crystal Vasquez, Angela Axt (Landon), Amanda Poole; 5 great grandchildren, Michael Goodwin, Destiny and Jon Michael Vasquez, Rileigh and Weslie Johnstone; sisters, Betty Rinehart of Shelby, Sara Howard (Johnny) of Columbiana, Brenda Horton (Jim) of Knoxville, Tenn. and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was a very loving and caring person who spent all of her life taking care of others. Now she is in the arms of Jesus who will take care of her forever more. We love her so much and will miss her tremendously. Please sign online condolences at Boltonfuneralhome.com.
