Pelham High School head baseball coach Jeff Mauldin and assistant coach Jeff Schrupp are headed to Hewitt-Trussville High School after they were approved by the Trussville City School Board during a May 24 meeting.
During the meeting, the school board approved Mauldin as the new Hewitt-Trussville head baseball coach and Schrupp as the assistant coach.
“I think that by us bringing in a top coach like coach Mauldin and his top assistant coach Schrupp shows that we are very serious about building a championship program,” said Trussville School Board President Bill Roberts. “These men are not only great coaches, they are quality men and teachers.”
The Hewitt-Trussville head baseball coaching position was previously held by coach Jason Estabrook.
While at Pelham High, Mauldin compiled a 176-51 record in six years as the Panthers’ head baseball coach. He recently guided PHS to the quarterfinals in this year’s Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A state playoffs.
