MONTEVALLO – A $3,500 reward is available for information leading to an arrest in the Montevallo dog-skinning case.

The Humane Society of the United States, through its anti-cruelty funding, is offering $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrators, said Mindy Gilbert, the Alabama state director for the Humane Society.

The Alabama Humane Federation and the Animal Control Association are each contributing an additional $500 to bring the total reward to $3,500.

“We’re delighted to be able to put the reward in place,” Gilbert said after the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office gave permission for the reward to be posted.

Anyone with information or wishing to donate to the reward amount should contact the Chilton County Sheriff’s Department at 755-4698.
