The Pelham Police Department is investigating a May 31 late-night armed robbery in the Saddle Run neighborhood off Shelby County 11.

The robbery happened at about 11:30 p.m. in the 4000 block of Saddle Run Circle when a pair of black male suspects approached a pair of middle-aged Pelham residents in their driveway and presented small handguns, said Pelham Police Department Lt. Pete Folmar.

The suspects then stole the victims’ wallets, which contained identification cards, credit cards and about $800 in cash, Folmar said.

No injuries were reported in the robbery, Folmar said.

After the incident, the suspects were last seen leaving the scene on foot.

“That incident is still under investigation,” Folmar said, noting the department seldom receives armed robbery reports. “There are no hard suspects at this time. I feel confident that we will solve this one.”

Anyone with information related to the crime is encouraged to call the Pelham Police Department at 620-6550.
