Peggy Wann
Alabaster
Peggy Wann died June 15, 2012, with her family, friends and beloved Maci by her side at home in Alabaster.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Calera First United Methodist Church. Pastor Larry Parker officiated.
Mrs. Wann was born Peggy Ann McClure on August 12, 1940, in Carriere, Miss. to the late Ora and Olivia McClure.
Peggy was strong in her faith with the Lord Jesus Christ. She enjoyed reading, knitting, traveling and cooking. She loved spending time with her family, but most of all she loved to do for others, never wanting anything in return. After retiring from work she spent eight years as a full time volunteer at Briarcliff Nursing Home in Alabaster. Everyone who knew Peggy experienced her unique sense of humor and will miss that most of all.
Mrs. Wann is survived by her husband, Arlan Craig Wann of 39 years; her brother, Glenn Cockran (Deborah); sister, Patricia Pearson (Lamar); her children Jeffrey Wann (Polly); their two children, Claire and Aidan; daughter, Robbye Jepsen (Craig); their three children, Ryan, Sarah and Emily; and her “son” Reginald Chapple.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Don Cockran.
