In writing to the Hebrews, Paul taught that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Heb. 11). He further states that it is through faith that we understand that God, through the Word, framed the worlds, the Word being Jesus Christ, His Son.

Understanding the importance of faith in the lives of God’s children, Paul went on to describe the many mighty works that were done by faith throughout time.

Ultimately, our faith leads us to the source of salvation.

Moses was inspired when placing the record of the creation at the beginning of his writings. By so doing, he provided us with a clear understanding of the omnipotence and omniscience of the Creator. John clarified the place of the Word in the creation when he declared that the worlds were made by the Word, who is Jesus Christ. If Jesus is the creator of all things, we can rest assured that there is nothing beyond His knowledge and ability. Indeed, “with God all things are possible” (Mark 10:27), including our salvation through Jesus Christ.

This world is full of trial and tribulation. Some come because of nature, some come from decisions we make that are contrary to the will of God and some come from the actions of others foisted upon us. When we combine our knowledge and understanding that Jesus Christ is all-powerful with a measure of faith that he can bring about our salvation, we begin to comprehend that no matter the trouble we face in life, we can, through the Savior, overcome all.

When we place our faith in Jesus Christ, and believe that through his atonement we can receive forgiveness of sin, overcome the burdens of life and find relief from the trauma of being victim to others’ cruelties, hope shines through and the path is lighted which leads to salvation and eternal life with God our Father, and Jesus Christ, our Savior.
