A recording artist and former participant on the X Factor television show will be making a trip to Alabaster on July 11 to talk with local kids about the state of bullying in their communities.

Rachel Crow, who participated on the first season of The X Factor, will visit Kids First Awareness Community Learning Center off Shelby County 11 in Alabaster’s Simmsville community at noon.

During her visit, which will be a partnership between Crow and Dosomething.org, Crow will speak out against bullying, and will challenge kids in attendance to combat bullying in their communities.

Crow is best known for her single “Mean Girls” and her recent self-titled EP.

At the event, local kids will participate in Dosomething.org’s “The Hunt: 11 Days of Doing” campaign, which will challenge the kids to bring positive social changes in their communities.

Teens will work together to complete the challenges and report back to show how they created measurable impact in their community, all while collecting points to win prizes and scholarships. The challenges will focus on important issues such as the environment, poverty, bullying, education, and more.

The day will also feature a Kids First talent show. The two winners of the talent show will get to perform for Crow at the end of the event.
