Living in Technicolor

When Hoover namesake and founder William H. Hoover and family built their home on Tyler Road in 1947, it stood as a testament to the style of the era during which it was constructed — for about 40 years.

Then Barbara Randle and her husband, Edmond, bought the house in 1987 and began remodeling. While the house, which is on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage, may look the same as it always has on the outside with its stately white columns and red brick facade, the interior now bursts with color, light and Barbara’s personal flair.
