Richard P. Fletcher, age 88, of Pea Ridge, passed away July 11, 2012 at his home. He was born August 24, 1923 in Marvel. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Lennie Hays Fletcher; grandson, James Michael Fletcher; parents, Jake and Addie Fletcher; six sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his children: sons, Richard M. Fletcher (Betty) of Verbena and James T. Fletcher (Peggy) of Pea Ridge; daughters, Brenda Burdett (Doyle) of Pea Ridge and Judy Berryhill of Clanton; sister, Francis May of San Jose, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Graveside service was 11 a.m., July 13, 2012 at Macedonia Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Charter Funeral Home.
