Candidates qualify for Indian Springs election

INDIAN SPRINGS — Several Indian Springs residents have qualified for the town’s upcoming municipal election Aug. 28.

Brenda Bell-Guercio has qualified to run for the mayor’s seat. She has spent the past eight years as a member of the town council. Current Mayor Steve Zerkis has publicly said he will not run again.

Incumbent Herb Robins has qualified to run again for his Place 1 seat.

Kathryn Harrington will run for the town council’s Place 2 seat, which will be vacated by Bell-Guercio.

Incumbents Brian Stauss and Jack Mendel are running again for their Place 3 and Place 4 seats, respectively.

Barton J. Trammell has qualified for the Place 5 seat, currently held by Stewart Dudley. As of July 13 at 5 p.m., Dudley had not filed election paperwork.
