Jackie Martin, age 81, of Montevallo, passed away Monday, July 23, 2012 in Montevallo.

Mrs. Martin was a teacher for the Shelby County school system for 27 years before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents, W.A. and Ada Guest; husband of 37 years, Charles Martin; and brother, Caudell Guest.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her son, Harry Martin of Birmingham; sister, Dorothy Holcombe (Earl) of Guntersville; and two grandsons, Robert Martin (Anna) and Chance Martin.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 26 at Rockco Funeral Home Montevallo from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leanne Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Montevallo Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Mid-South Division, 1100 Ireland Way, Ste. 2012, Birmingham, AL 35205.
