Kingwood Christian splits volleyball matches

The Kingwood Christian School volleyball team split a pair of matches in high school volleyball action Aug. 18.

The Lions defeated Lee-Scott Academy 14-25, 25-23, 15-25, 25-8, 15-11.

Sloane Pickett led Kingwood Christian (4-3) with 10 kills in the victory. Pickett also contributed two service aces.

Madelyn Pearce finished with eight kills and two digs. Casey Whitmer added six kills, two service aces and two blocks. Katie Allen Etheridge posted five kills, four service aces and one block.

Blair Holsombeck contributed a team-high 19 assists in the win.

Kingwood Christian fell to Calvary Christian 19-25, 11-25, 23-25.

Whitmer and Etheridge led the Lions with two kills each. Whitmer added two blocks, while Etheridge posted a team-high four service aces.

Holsombeck recorded a team-high 10 assists.
