Pelham officials are looking for city residents to fill vacancies on several municipal boards, members of the City Council announced during an Aug. 20 meeting.

Pelham currently has vacancies on the Board of Adjustments, the Board of Adjustment and Appeals, the Industrial Development Board, the Park and Recreation Board and the Personnel Board, said City Clerk Tom Seale.

Interested applicants should submit resumés by email to cityhall@pelhamonline.com or by mailing them to Pelham City Hall, Attention: Paula Holly, P.O. Box 1419, Pelham, Ala., 35124.

All applicants must be residents of Pelham and be able to commit to attending the board’s meetings. For detailed explanations of each board, visit Pelhamonline.com/city-government/boards-committees.

During the council’s Aug. 20 work session, the council voted to remove motions to appoint members to the Board of Adjustments and the Recreation Board after Councilman Ron Scott requested the city more heavily advertise the board vacancies over the next few weeks.

“We need to make sure that the advertisement is comprehensive online and make sure it is placed in the Pelham Reporter,” Scott told the council. “I think we should withdraw those (appointment motions) until we have adequate advertising.”
