The Briarwood Christian School volleyball team defeated Gardendale 25-22, 25-16, 25-17 in high school volleyball action Aug. 23.

Mariah Light led the Lions (1-0) with six kills in the victory.

Madison Chambers added three kills. Hope Donohue recorded a team-high 21 digs to go along with six service aces.

Christie Robertson contributed three service aces. Georgia Muir-Taylor added two blocks. Adeline Reiser finished with a team-high 16 assists in the win.
