Man killed, another injured in Montevallo wreck

A 19-year-old Jemison man was pronounced dead and another individual was transported to UAB Hospital after a fatal early morning wreck Aug. 25 in Montevallo.
Jemison resident Sergio Hernan was pronounced dead after the one-vehicle wreck on Shelby County 73 at about 2:50 a.m., according to information from the Alabama Department of Public Safety in Birmingham. Hernan was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer SUV, according to the Department of Public Safety.
Antonio Hernandez Miguel, who was a passenger in the Explorer, was transported to UAB Hospital for treatment. As of Aug. 25, state troopers had not yet released Miguel’s condition or age. No other details related to the wreck have been released.
