Glover repeats as Peach Belt Conference runner of the week

AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of Montevallo senior Kaley Glover earned Peach Belt Conference women’s cross country Runner of the Week status for the second consecutive week after finishing runner-up in the Fleet Feet Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial 5K race Sept. 8 in Huntsville.

Glover, an Opelika native, came in second overall in individual standings at the race hosted by former Gulf South Conference rival UAH with a time of 19:09. Glover helped the Falcons finish runner-up in team standings in their second race of the season.

Glover opened the season with a runner-up finish in the Falcons’ Early Bird Classic. Glover posted a time of 19:29 in the season-opening race as she helped Montevallo capture the team title.

Glover and the Falcons, who were picked as the Peach Belt Conference favorite in a preseason poll among head coaches, return to action Sept. 22 at 8 a.m. with the Falcon Classic on their home course.
