FROM STAFF REPORTS

CHELSEA – Chelsea Day will feature vendors and artisans from across the state, as well as live music and entertainment.

Chelsea Day is set for Oct. 6 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on the lawn of Chelsea city hall. This event is planned as a “Celebration of the Arts.” Vendors and artisans from throughout the state will be on hand showcasing their goods and services, according to a press release.

The Chelsea High School Hornet Pride Band will be in concert during the day as well as a special performance by the Chelsea Middle School sixth grade beginning band. This will be the first performance by these students since they just started playing in late August. The entertainment line-up will also include artists from local schools and churches, the release stated.

There will also be art displays from Chelsea Middle, Chelsea Park and Mt. Laurel Elementary School. New this year is a silent auction. The auction will have a wide variety of items to bid on, including Alabama and Auburn fan baskets, according to the release.

There will be inflatables for the kids and several food vendors, including Johnny Rays, Chelsea Coffee House, Let It Snow, Holy Cow Ice Cream, as well as the Chelsea High Band Boosters concession stand. Another vendor will be serving up fried Oreos and funnel cakes.

Last year, the event attracted more than 1,500 people. Organizers are expecting a bigger crowd this year. Shuttle vehicles will run from Chelsea Intermediate School for easy access to parking. Admission is free
