TARRANT-Chelsea High School  defeated Tarrant High School 44-20 at Tarrant.

The Hornets were ahead 30-0 after only eight minutes of game play.  Senior running back Julius McCall scored on the opening kickoff while senior linebacker Kameron Ward had a 35-yard interception return touchdown on the following possession.

“We got to play a lot of players,” Waldrop said. “The young guys were already playing by the end of the first quarter.”

The Hornets were led by freshman running back A.J. Jones with 97 yards on eight rushes. Along with his kickoff return touchdown, McCall added 77 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries. Junior quarterback Trent Hagin was 6-of-9 passing for 64 yards while senior receiver Keelan Gregg had three receptions for 28 yards.
