Everett Munroe Todd, age 83, born Jan. 18, 1929, of Maylene, passed away on Sept. 26, 2012, at Baptist Medical Center Shelby. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railway. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and over 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. He fought in the Korean War and served two terms in the Vietnam War.

Memorial services were held at Charter Funeral Home in Calera on Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. His daughter, Reba McLain, delivered the eulogy. Burial was held Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Maylene.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Ritch Todd; three daughters, Sheila Shunnarah (Joseph) of Alabaster, Reba McLain of Alabaster and Theresa Swindle (David) of Jasper; son, Ronny Todd (Kristi) of Alabaster; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Berg of Calera, Ami Steed (Mark) of Calera, Rebecca McLain of Alabaster, Kelsey Todd of Alabaster and Shelby Todd of Alabaster; and adopted daughter, Kimily Payne of Maylene.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Elton B. Hill and Bertha LaVerne Hill.
