Buddy Ray Simpson, age 81, of Wilsonville, passed away on Oct. 8, 2012. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Oct. 11 at Wilsonville Baptist Church with burial in Wilsonville City Cemetery. Visitation will be Oct. 10 at Bolton Funeral Home, Columbiana from 6-8 p.m.

Jesus Christ was Lord and Savior of Ray Simpson. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and retired from P.I.E. Nationwide after 40 years. He was an usher and deacon at Wilsonville Baptist Church, a Master Mason and a Civitan.

Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife, Lenore Simpson; sons, Wendell Simpson, Tim Simpson (Pam) and Sammy Simpson (Precious); daughters, Susan Johnston (Chuck) and Deanetta Simpson; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy Simpson; and other family and friends. Mr. Simpson is preceded in death by his sister, Marie Johnson. Special thanks to Dr. Ira Gore Jr. and his staff at St. Vincent’s Cancer Center.
