Falcons finish third in Indian Bayou Classic tournament

DESTIN, Fla. – The University of Montevallo men’s golf team finished third in team standings Oct. 9 at the Indian Bayou Classic tournament at Indian Bayou Golf Club in Destin, Fla.

The Falcons collectively carded a 16-over par 592, which placed them five strokes back of tournament winner University of North Alabama.

Montevallo junior Conner Godsey finished in a three-way tie for first place individually with a 2-under par 142, which included a 3-under par 69 in the final round. Godsey finished second overall following a playoff.

Freshman Dalton Skinner finished in a tie for 17th overall after carding a two-day total of 5-over par 149. Senior Andrew Lowry finished with a 7-over par 151, which placed him in a tie for 19th in individual standings.

Senior Austin Murphey carded a 9-over par 153 in the tournament, which placed him in a tie for 31st overall in individual standings. Freshman Daniel Schroder rounded out the group of Montevallo golfers with a 10-over par 154, which placed him in a tie for 39th in individual standings.

The Falcons wrap up the fall portion of their schedule Oct. 29-30 at the University of West Georgia Invitational at Oak Mountain Championship Golf Club in Carrollton, Ga.
