Falcons wrap up final round at Rendleman Invitational tournament

SALISBURY, N.C. – The University of Montevallo women’s golf team finished 11th in team standings in the Patsy Rendleman Invitational tournament Oct. 15-16 at the Country Club of Salisbury in Salisbury, N.C.

The Falcons carded a team score of 338 in the final round Oct. 16 to finish with a two-day total of 672 strokes in the tournament. Newberry College captured the tournament title with a two-round score of 598 strokes.

Sophomore Ashlee Beck led Montevallo in the tournament with a two-day score of 16-over par 160. Beck carded a 9-over par 81 in the final round. Beck finished in a tie for 25th overall in individual standings.

Freshman Morgan Natale led the Falcons with a 6-over par 78 in the final round, which helped her post a two-round total of 21-over par 165 in the tournament. Natale finished in a tie for 37th overall in individual standings.

Junior Hilary Shaner finished the tournament with a two-round score of 174 strokes, which placed her in a tie for 62nd overall in individual standings. Fellow junior Kira Chaudhry finished 68th in individual standings after posting a two-round score of 176 strokes.

Senior Kayla Witt rounded out the group of Montevallo golfers with her two-round score of 178 strokes, which placed her in a tie for 72nd in individual standings in the tournament.

The Falcons wrapped up the fall portion of their 2012-2013 schedule at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational tournament and will return to action in the spring.
