A Maylene woman will be giving local women a chance to relax and unwind during a Nov. 3 event at the Helena Community Center.

The event, which is titled “High Noon Stressbuster: The Ultimate Day Off for Women,” will be from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the community center, which is at 110 Sports Complex Drive.

The free event will feature shopping, entertainment, stress-free living tips and door prizes. Alabaster Mayor-elect Marty Handlon and local business owner Darleatha Edwards will provide inspirational messages and Birmingham comedian Joy: The Queen of Clean will perform her stand-up comedy routine.

This year will mark the third Stressbuster event, which is organized by Maylene resident Crystal Neville.

“I’m a mom of four, so I know that it’s difficult for women to find some time to ourselves,” Neville said, noting the event’s tagline is “No drama, no spouse, no children, no worries, no charge.”

“The event is all about having fun, because fun is the deterrent of stress,” Neville added.
