Kermit “Bud” Burleson Jr., 79, of Orange, passed away on Oct. 28, 2012, in Orange.

The funeral service will be Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Center. Deacon Eddie Blankenstein of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church will officiate all services.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. with a wake service at 6 p.m.

Mr. Burleson was born June 3, 1933, in Sulphur, La., to Kermit K. Burleson Sr. and Amoura Louis (Davis) Burleson. He retired as a production scheduler for DuPont Chemical Company and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he sang in the Choir of Angels and was a former member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Center where he built the beautiful wooden alter in the church. He enjoyed building cabinets and many people will remember him for always being so happy. One of his biggest joys in his life was his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved so much.

He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Carole Burleson, mother of his four daughters, and his sisters, Margaret Clark and Beverly Tilley.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jeanette Venable Burleson of Orange; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki Ishee (Wayne), Sandra Samford (Don), Beth Thibodeaux (Ron) and Sharon Stewart (Jeff); and stepsons, Gerald Lindsey Jr. and Chad Lindsey. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Charlean Lindsey, wife of the late Todd Lindsey; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Audrey Berry and Elise Beeler; brother, Nolan Burleson (Carol); and many nieces and nephews.
