Montevallo men’s golf finishes seventh in West Georgia Invitational

CARROLLTON, Ga. – The University of Montevallo men’s golf team finished seventh in team standings following the final round of the University of West Georgia’s Matt Dyas Invitational tournament Oct. 30.

The Falcons, who collectively carded a team score of 956 strokes, finished 50 strokes behind tournament winner Clayton State University.

Freshmen Dalton Skinner and Juan Noce paced the Falcons with identical tournament scores of 23-over par 239. Noce carded a 6-over par 79 in the third round, while Skinner posted a 10-over par 82 in the final round. The pair finished in a tie for 24th overall in individual standings in the tournament.

Junior Sindre Rambjoer carded a 24-over par 240 in the tournament, which placed him in a tie for 28th overall in individual standings. Senior Andrew Lowry finished 34th overall in individual standings with his tournament total 27-over par 243.

Junior Conner Godsey rounded out the group of Montevallo golfers with his tournament total 28-over par 244, which placed him in a tie for 35th overall in individual standings.

The Falcons wrapped up the fall portion of their 2012-2013 schedule at the West Georgia Invitational. Montevallo will return to action Feb. 11-12, 2013 at the Spring Kick-Off Intercollegiate tournament at the Golf Club at Fleming Island in Jacksonville, Fla.
