Two Montevallo women’s soccer players named to conference All-Academic team

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Two members of the University of Montevallo women’s soccer team were named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic team Nov. 7.

Junior goalkeeper Kaitlin Thomas and sophomore midfielder Camilla Alderin were each selected to the All-Academic squad.

In addition to Thomas and Alderin, seniors Katy Hutto and Nicola Stolworthy along with juniors Melissa Bode, Taylor Kerr and Paige Scott, were each selected Peach Belt Conference All-Academic honorable mention.

Thomas, a Calgary, Alberta native, was named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic team for the second year in a row. Thomas, who is a biochemistry major with minors in biology and math, owns a perfect 4.00 grade-point average.

Thomas was also named the CoSIDA Academic All-District team in District 3 last season and has been named a Gold Scholar on the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll each of the past two seasons.

Alderin, who is undecided on a major, owns a 3.75 grade-point average. Alderin, an Oslo, Norway native, was also named a Gold Scholar on the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll last season.

Hutto, an Alabaster, Ala. native, is a kinesiology major. Bode, a Katy, Texas native, is a psychology major with a minor in kinesiology.

Kerr, a Birmingham, Ala. native, is a history major, while Stolworthy, a Belton, England native, is a kinesiology major.
