Community Baptist Church in Maylene will host author Chad Gibbs as a guest speaker during their Nov. 18 morning services.

Gibbs lives in Birmingham and is the writer of “God & Football: Faith and Fanticism in the SEC” and “Love Thy Rival: What Sports’ Greatest Rivalries Teach us about Loving Our Enemies,” which were named regional best-sellers.

Gibbs has also been featured on ESPN’s Outside the Lines, The Washington Post and CNN.

“Being in a part of the country with such passionate football fans, I am excited to have Chad coming to help us put in all in the proper perspective,” Community Baptist Church pastor Bo Brown said. ” Through his humor and ability to connect fan with faith, it should be an incredible Sunday. ”

Community Baptist Church will host Gibbs for their 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.
