JOPLIN, Mo. – University of Montevallo senior Kaley Glover wrapped up her collegiate cross country career by posting the second fastest time in school history in her second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship 6K race Nov. 17, hosted by Missouri Southern State University.

Glover, who competed in the National Championship race as an individual, finished with a time of 22:33.3, which placed her 119th overall in individual standings in the field of 249 runners.

Glover, who earned the spot in the National Championship race after winning the NCAA Division II Southeast Region individual championship, now owns five of the fastest 10 times recorded in 6K races by a member of the Montevallo women’s cross country program.

“Kaley came out and represented the University well,” said Montevallo cross country coach Tommy Barksdale. “She fought the whole race. It was a great way to end her senior cross country season.”

Glover finished the first half of the race with a time of 11:16.3 before finishing the second half with a time of 11:16.8. Glover moved up nine spots in individual standings down the stretch in the second half of the race.

Glover began the postseason with a second-place finish in individual standings at the Peach Belt Conference Championship race Oct. 20 before capturing the Southeast Region title Nov. 3 in Charlotte, N.C.

Glover, the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division II Southeast Region Athlete of the Year, will be part of the first ever Montevallo women’s track and field team in school history in the spring.
