Charles Robert Wilson, age 85, of Columbiana, passed away on Nov. 21, 2012. Mr. Wilson was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Wars. From 1956-1971 he was one of NASA’s official photographers during the Apollo Space Program. His photography is on display at the Smithsonian and Kennedy Space Center. He will be remembered for his dancing, karaoke, story-telling and humor, but most importantly, his love for life, animals and people.

Funeral service was at 2 p.m. on Nov. 25 at Bolton Funeral Home, Columbiana. Rev. John Mobley officiated. Burial followed in Elliottsville Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Lucy Wilson of Columbiana; daughters, Martha L. Wilson of Nashville, Tenn., Laura W. Smith (James) of Gardendale; stepdaughters, Cindy Stamp (Charlie) of Atlanta, Ga., Yvette Drummond (Kirk) of Houston, Texas; stepson, Russell Clyde Teague of Cosby, Texas; grandchildren, Brett Vann of Helena, Leah Graves (John) of Hoover and Kaylee Smith of Gardendale; and numerous other family and friends.
