Missing Montevallo girl returns home

MONTEVALLO – The 16-year-old girl who went missing from her Montevallo home has returned home safely, according to a release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Yolanda Guadalupe Martinez was reported missing Nov. 20. Sheriff’s investigators have been searching for her and following up on every lead as to her whereabouts since then, the release stated. Investigators were notified on the afternoon of Nov. 27 that Martinez had returned home safely and was in the care of her family.

Investigators will follow up with Martinez and her family and ensure she has not been a victim of a crime, the release stated.

Shelby County Sheriff Chris Curry would like to thank everyone who responded with tips as to her location and the many law enforcement officers who helped try and find her, the release stated.
