Oak Mountain downs Walker

NORTH SHELBY – The Oak Mountain Lady Eagles took an early lead and never looked back to take a 50-28 victory over the Walker Lady Vikings Nov. 27.

Oak Mountain (4-1) jumped out to a 12-4 lead in the first quarter while holding Walker to just one basket from the field. The Lady Eagles added a game-high 17 points in the second to take a 29-13 lead at the half.

Oak Mountain opened the third on a 7-2 run to extend their lead to 20, 38-18, headed into the final quarter.

Walker closed the gap to five with an 8-0 run to start the fourth. The Lady Eagles responded with an 11-2 run to seal the 50-28 victory.

Allie Allers led all scorers with 15 points for Oak Mountain. Katelyn West added eight points while Maiya Lee and Jasmine Finch each scored seven points.

Sidney Cooper scored 11 points to lead Walker.
