Evangel Christian won its Alabama Christian Sports Conference opener on Dec. 3, trouncing Tuscaloosa Home on the road 44-26.

Senior Anna Byers led a balanced scoring attack for the Lightning with 14 points with 12 rebounds and had three steals.

Madison Thames added eight points for Evangel, and Lacey Entrekin and Bethany Letson seven each. Entrekin also snagged 12 rebounds, and Letson dished out four assists.

Maggie Sullivan and Mary Helen Boykin paced the Lady Warriors with eight points each.
