HOOVER – The Spain Park Lady Jaguars took an early lead and never let it go for a 55-36 win over the Thompson Lady Warriors at home Dec. 11.

The Lady Jags (8-4) took a 13-4 lead in the first quarter, but Thompson was able to cut into the Spain Park advantage in the second. The Lady Warriors closed the first half on a 7-0 run while outscoring Spain Park 10-7 in the quarter for a 20-14 Lady Jags’ lead at the half.

Spain Park outscored Thompson 12-10 in the third and opened the fourth with a 6-2 run to pull away for the win.

Victoria Baldwin led all scorers with 26 points with eight rebounds for Spain Park. Ashely Gaston scored 16 points and Denise Newton finished with 10 points.

DeJa Jean Pierre led Thompson with 10 points.
