Pelham man barricades himself in townhome after warrant served

PELHAM – A Pelham man was arrested after barricading himself in his townhome Dec. 17.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., Pelham Police patrol units were asked to assist the Homewood Police Department in serving an arrest warrant for their city on Cottage Circle in Pelham, according to a release from the Pelham Police Department.

Upon announcing police presence, the subject barricaded himself in the attic of the townhome. This dwelling is a single unit of a six-unit complex under a common roof.

The individual made his way into two additional units using the common space of the attic. He eventually was taken into custody in the second unit he occupied, the release stated.

The investigation is continuing with multiple felony charges pending. The subject’s identity is being withheld until felony warrants are obtained, the release stated.
