Lady Lions down Edgewood

ALABASTER – The Kingwood Christian Lady Lions jumped out to an early lead on their way to a 50-27 handling of the Edgewood Academy Wildcats Jan. 10.

The Lady Lions (3-12) scored 13 unanswered points to start the game to take a 13-2 lead into the second.

Katie Allen Etheridge scored the first four points of the second quarter while scoring six of the Lady Lions’ nine points on their way to take a 22-9 lead at the half.

Edgewood opened the second half on a 6-0 run, but was held to just two points the rest of the the third quarter. The Lady Lions took advantage and extended their lead to 33-15 headed into the fourth quarter.

Edgewood had their best scoring quarter of the game when it tallied 10 points in the fourth. Kingwood’s Madelyn Pearce scored all eight of her points in the fourth to lead the Lady Lions on a 12-2 run to seal the 50-27 win.

Taylor White led Kingwood with 16 points including five 3-pointers. Etheridge finished the game with 11 points.

Keri Hansen led Edgewood with 15 points while scoring seven points in the fourth quarter.
