Danny Grimes, age 47, of Vincent, died on Jan. 14, 2013, at Shelby Medical Center. His children were his whole world and he was a loving husband and father. He was a native of Shelby County and was employed at Alabama Plate Cutting in Saginaw.

Visitation will be held on Jan. 15 from 4:30-8 p.m. at First Pentecost Church in Harpersville. Funeral services will be held on Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. at First Pentecost Church in Harpersville with Reverend Russell Hughes officiating. Burial will be held in Vincent Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Kay Grimes Bennett; father, J.B. Grimes; sister, Lisa Diane Grimes; and father-in-law, Paul Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Paula Kay Grimes of Vincent; sons, Colt Grimes and Jeremy Strop of Vincent; daughter, Diane Grimes of Vincent; sister, Shannon Coggins (Keith) of Shelby; brother, Pete Grimes of Shelby; sisters-in-law, Sherry Frost and Marie Castleberry of Vincent; brothers-in-law, Paul Smith (Serena) and Robin Grimes of Vincent; mother-in-law, Doris Smith of Vincent; and granddaughter, Raven Moore of Vincent.

Pallbearers are P.J. Edwards, Jeremy Strop, Bret Grimes, Johnny Vick, Michael Fadule and Patrick Mead. Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Wayne Smith, Lamar Strop and Aaron Wood.
