As of 9:54 a.m., U.S. 280 westbound lanes reopened after a six-car accident at the intersection of Meadowlark Drive, according to a press release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

The wreck occurred at approximately 7:10 a.m. and caused injuries. The injured were treated at the scene and transported to local hospitals with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

The road closure created serious delays throughout the morning.
