One killed, two injured in Saginaw wreck

One person was killed and two others were injured in a Jan. 16 two-vehicle wreck on Shelby County 26 in the Saginaw community, according to the Alabama Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened at about 11:20 a.m. just south of the Saginaw Volunteer Fire Department building, and involved a red 1996 Ford Explorer and a silver 2004 Ford Escape.

Columbiana resident Karen Lewis, 39, was driving the Ford Escape and was killed in the wreck. Lewis’ passenger, a juvenile whose name was not released, was injured in the wreck and transported to UAB Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, 21-year-old Alabaster resident Drew Graham, was injured in the wreck and was also transported to UAB Hospital.

The wreck is being investigated by the Birmingham Highway Patrol office.
