CALERA – The Calera Eagle Marching Band send-off celebration has undergone a change of plans due to inclement, snowy weather today.

Instead of marching down U.S. 31 from Calera High School to Sav Mor Food Outlet for a send-off party, the band will stay warm in the band room to rehearse, according to band director Ryan Murrell. The band will board a bus Jan. 18 to travel to Washington, D.C. for the 57th Presidential Inaugural Parade Jan. 21.

Sav Mor Food Outlet owner Bill Davis said he plans to take snacks and drinks to the band, as well as a monetary donation as a “thank you” for the band members’ help in his store, to the school before they leave.
