John V. Jacks, age 65, of Calera, passed away on Jan. 15, 2013. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Jan. 19 at Fountain of Life Church of God. Rev. Jay Rhodes will be officiating. Burial will follow in Ryan’s Crossing Cemetery. Visitation will be Jan. 18 from 6-8 p.m. at Bolton Funeral Home, Columbiana.

Mr. Jacks was a loving husband, father and pastor for over 25 years. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. He is survived by his wife, Pat Jacks; son, Chris Jacks (Angela); daughter, Dana Nivens (Heath); grandchildren, Dakota Nivens, Hailey Jacks, Christopher Jacks, Sammy Jacks and Liam Jacks; sister, Betty Lay; and other family and friends.
