Calera holds off Shelby County, 50-43

The Calera Lady Eagles held off a second-half rally by the Shelby County Lady Wildcats for a 50-43 win Jan. 29.

The Lady Eagles played strong defense in the first half to hold Shelby County to just 15 points to grab a 27-15 lead heading into the third quarter.

The Lady Wildcats began to chip away at the deficit in the third and fourth quarters, but were unable to complete the comeback.

Tyesha Haynes led Calera with 15 points and A’kia Harris scored 11 points.
