The Thompson Lady Warriors held off Wetumpka twice in the second half to take a 44-39 win in the Class 6A, Area 7 tournament held at Prattville High School Feb. 7.

Thompson took a 23-18 lead at halftime and Wetumpka quickly cut the deficit to three just over a minute into the third. The Lady Warriors responded to take a 35-25 advantage into the fourth.

Wetumpka again rallied and pulled within four with more than a minute left in the game, but Thompson seal the win on a 2-1 run.

Kat Cingoranelli led Thompson with 11 points while Kelsea Bivens added eight points with 11 rebounds and two blocks. Deja Jeanpierre scored seven points while recording four rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Thompson will take on Prattville in the Area 7 championship game Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.
