Dwayne Eugene Coy Sr., age 89, of Columbiana passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013. Dwayne retired from the Army after 24 years of service; he also served in the Navy and the Air Force. He was a World War II and Korean Veteran.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Sybil Coy; daughters, Deloris Coy, Linda Sue VanNoy (Marion W.) and Anita Fay Coy; sons, Ernest Eugene Coy (Tracy) and Dwayne Eugene Coy Jr. (Barbara); brother, Clarence Sonny Coy; grandchildren, Betty Angeline Coy, Christopher Kroll, Tiffany Kroll, Brandon VanNoy (Brittany), Dwayne Eugene Coy II and Sarah Angeline Coy; and great-grandchild, Dakota Spicer.

The family received friends at Charter Funeral Home from noon-1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 with a funeral service that followed at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating at the service was Pastor Mack Ritch. Soloist was Georganna Ritch. A committal service with Full Honors was in the Alabama National Cemetery.
