The Evangel Christian Lightning held East Central to six points in the first half to claim a 50-30 first round win in the ACSC tournament Feb. 12.

The Lightning forced 24 East Central turnovers in the game.

Judson Motes led Evangel with 12 points, four rebounds and four assists. Grayson Melick finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Evangel will take on the winner of Hope Christian/Success Unlimited first round game in the conference semifinals at 8 p.m. at Samford University.
