Montevallo women’s cross country adds four student-athletes

MONTEVALLO – The University of Montevallo women’s cross country team received four National Letters-of-Intent on National Signing Day.

The Falcons added Katherine Terino, Emalee Butler, Alaina Norman and Cheyenne Thompson to the program.

Terino will enter Montevallo as a freshman out of Montgomery Catholic School in Montgomery, Ala. Terino, who owns a personal 5K record time of 19:40, was part of a 3,200-meter relay team that set a new school record and finished second in the Indoor Track and Field State Championship meet.

Butler will join the Falcons as a freshman out of Hoover High School in Hoover, Ala. Butler, who helped her high school team finish runner-up in both the Cross Country and Indoor Track and Field State Championship meet, ran a personal 5K best in 20:11.

Norman will enter Montevallo as a freshman out of Buckhorn High School in Huntsville, Ala. Norman, who is originally from Ohio, ran a personal 5K best in 19:33.

Thompson will join the Falcons as a freshman out of Chelsea High School in Chelsea, Ala. Thompson, who was also a member of her high school’s State Championship soccer team, placed eighth overall in individual standings in the Cross Country State Championship meet and owns a personal 5K record time of 19:07.
