Six student-athletes set to join Montevallo women’s track and field program

MONTEVALLO – The University of Montevallo women’s track and field program added six student-athletes on National Signing Day.

The Falcons added Katherine Terino, Emalee Butler, Alaina Norman, Cheyenne Thompson, Kati Gunn and Victoria Johnson to the program.

Terino will enter Montevallo as a freshman out of Montgomery Catholic School in Montgomery, Ala. Terino, who was part of a 3,200-meter relay team that set a new school record and finished second in the Indoor Track and Field State Championship meet, owns personal record times of 2:40 in the 800-meter run, 5:32 in the 1,600-meter run and 11:52 in the 3,200-meter run.

Butler will join the Falcons as a freshman out of Hoover High School in Hoover, Ala. Butler, who helped her high school team finish runner-up in both the Cross Country and Indoor Track and Field State Championship meet, owns personal record times of 2:39 in the 800-meter run, 5:38 in the 1,600-meter run and 12:17 in the 3,200-meter run.

Norman will enter Montevallo as a freshman out of Buckhorn High School in Huntsville, Ala. Norman, who is originally from Ohio, owns personal record times of 2:35 in the 800-meter run, 5:33 in the 1,600-meter run and 12:18 in the 3,200-meter run.

Thompson will join the Falcons as a freshman out of Chelsea High School in Chelsea, Ala. Thompson, who was also a member of her high school’s State Championship soccer team, owns personal record times of 5:24 in the 1,600-meter run and 11:50 in the 3,200-meter run.

Gunn will enter Montevallo as a freshman out of Pasadena Memorial High School in Pasadena, Texas. Gunn owns personal record tosses of 33 feet, 11.5 inches in shot put and 89 feet, 1 inch in discus.

Johnson will join the Falcons as a freshman out of Hoover High School in Hoover, Ala. Johnson, who helped her high school team finish second in the Indoor Track and Field State Championship meet, owns personal record tosses of 32 feet, 3.75 inches in shot put and 88 feet, 6.5 inches in discus.
